Tips to Welcome Buyers into Your Home

Tips to help welcome buyers to your home

First impressions are important!
When prospective buyers come to your house, the first thing they see is your front door! Be sure it looks fresh and inviting. Your yard should also have curb appeal by being well kept.

Show prospective buyers what a great property they will get!
Faded walls and clutter will reduce the look of your home.  Want a quicker sale at a higher price? Invest in some minor redecoration like fresh paint, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. It will pay dividends for you.

Let the sun shine in!
Open the blinds and curtains all the way to let in as much natural light in as possible. Show your home in it’s best light!

Fix that leaky faucet!
Dripping water discolors sinks! It also encourages prospective buyers to look for other perceived problems.

It’s the small stuff!
Take care of the minor details. Touch up trim on paint on doors, window frames, fascia, etc. Be sure that your doors don’t stick or have loose knobs. Windows and cabinet drawers too. Taking care of the minor details now will keep you home’s value.

Safety!
Keep your rooms and stairways clear! Remove those slippery rugs and take care of low-hanging lights.

Big closets!
Make your closets look bigger by keeping them neat and well organized to show that your home has ample storage space.

Bathrooms sell homes!
Make your bathroom sparkle! Check and repair any damage or discolored caulking in the bathtub and shower. Bright towels and area rugs add to the appeal.

Bright and cheerful bedrooms!
Keep your bedrooms bright and cheerful by removing any excess furniture and clutter. Attractive bedspreads and curtains make the room more inviting.

Illuminate!
Welcome prospective buyers by illuminating your home!  Make sure the interior of your home is well lit when it is shown.

Pets!
Keep all pets out of the way and not underfoot.

Be It Ever So Humble!
Never apologize for the appearance of your home! If there are any objections or comments let me handle it, that is my job as your agent.

Don’t put the cart before the horse!
Trying to sell the prospective buyers your furniture and/or accessories which you are not taking with you, before they have decided to buy your home only complicates the sale.
